This splendid Florentine villa was built in 1700. It was a noble family residence up until 1956 when it was converted into a hotel. It is set in a green neighbourhood of Florence, next to the Fortezza da Basso exhibition centre and its park.

What was the highlight of Villa Royal
Really enjoyable - would recommend this hotel every time. Great location 15 minute walk from train
The garden was splendid- a perfect setting to eat breakfast. Plants, flowers, a typical Florentine garden was the perfect setting to chat and eat and plan one's day. The breakfast itself was really lovely and the coffee superb. The reception staff deserve a special mention and dealt with shall we say 'over-fussy' guests really well, keeping calm and acting professionally. Guests complaining about clothes being left out drying for example. The reception staff were again professional, personable, knowlegable and very good at their jobs. They are a credit to the hotel.
The breakfast staff were so professional and friendly- they cleared away dishes a little too quickly however. On one occasion before i had actually finished my cereal/ coffee although they were very polite and personable.

What was the highlight of Villa Royal
Florence May 2024
Lovely hotel very close to centre. Easily walkable to Ponte Vecchio via the centre of town. Good breakfast and lovely room. Reception staff were very helpful, with great advice about attractions and restaurants.
Sadly the pool wasn't open. When I asked, Booking.com told me it would be open during our stay. So I booked. But then the hotel said it was only open from 1st June. ( they were very clear). But it wouldn't t stop me from returning as it wasn't the hotel's fault. Luckily it didn't ruin our stay. We will return

Ok but could do better for the price.
Location
Staggered there were no tea / coffee making facilities. Expected those considering the price. Staff could benefit from being more engaging. They were quite miserable and would benefit from a personality implant. Pool was not open and we’re not made aware until day before arrival otherwise would have booked alternative place. Extortion about to park car at villa! Should be free.

Good
Location is convenient. The hotel corridors look nice. The room was clean and bed sheets changed every day.
I had a single room and it was really small. Looked like a repurposed corridor.
